America BioHealth started out as dental social enterprise born in 2013, when a young Polish-Austrian immigrant to Canada and Costa Rica, technology salesman and former coffee shop apprentice named Victor Ronald went into business for himself and bought specialized dental equipment required to safely remove his mercury amalgam fillings. A safe amalgam removal protocol was soon developed In-house and his coding skills were put to good use in building the clinic's first website. Within three years, the Costa Rican BioDental brand was known throughout the region and Victor had become the president of Central America's first holistic & biological dental practice. Under his direction, the BioDental family of companies turned into the Costa Rican market leader for the provision of primary, complimentary and alternative oral healthcare services to the International and local community.

A humble beginning: In the fall of 2013, Viktor founded the dental business in San Pablo (Sabanilla de Villalobos), a small town in the province of Heredia, a little north from San Jose providing undeserved medical tourism populations traveling from England with straightforward and effective access to safe mercury amalgam removal procedures, oxygen ozone treatments, minimally invasive techniques and the use of proudly Made-In-America biocompatible and biomimetic dental materials. His first chief clinician was a family dentist and a US/Costa Rican citizen who understood the need to help make dentistry and its very many approaches to the oral health sciences better and helped him from the very beginning.

In the spring of 2015, after relocating the newly formed clinic to the magnificent views surrounding the premises of the CIMA International Hospital in the country's most prestigious urban, commercial and business center, it was the first time that he had sent his entire team on a trip alone for an advanced dental education course and oral surgeon training at the Zimmer-Biomet Institute in Parsippany, New Jersey for a hands on experience to learn aesthetic implant dentistry. The 30-year old newcomer to the oral health scene was interested in providing a new type of dental implant that was 100% biocompatible with the human physiological body for his much beloved patients.

America BioHealth introduced five important oral healthcare services into the Costa Rican market in 2013: safe amalgam removal, oxygen ozone dental therapy, dental hydro-air abrasion, biomimicry (biomimetic dental principles) and the application of biocompatible dental materials.

The mission of the BioHealth Foundation is to address the unmet healthcare needs of underserved populations and advance social franchise healthcare service models through fostering socially minded entrepreneurship. We believe a healthier world cannot come from medical services alone and understand the value of collaboration and partnerships. Through strategic grant-gifting and capacity building support for like minded partners and investors, we are striving to make a positive contribution to our local communities with initiatives that will help make a difference.

As the Costa Rican philanthropic arm of it's commercial enterprise, the foundation is championing world-class biomedical research and innovation through grant-making that gives money to support qualified social entrepreneurs that want to operate in the primary, complementary and alternative oral healthcare field.
